Eating habits you should avoid

Skipping breakfast

Certain studies indicate that skipping breakfast actually promotes weight gain since people who skip breakfast tend to eat more during the day. Eating a healthy breakfast can set your day off to a good, energetic start while giving you the required daily nutrient intake.

Stress eating

Do you tend to turn to comfort food when you are under stress? Stress eating is known to contribute significantly to overweight and obesity. Here’s how you can deal with it:

  • Keep junk food out of your house
  • Resolve issues that trigger emotional eating
  • Find better alternatives
  • Have a positive attitude

High sugar diet

A sedentary lifestyle combined with a high sugar diet can lead to several health issues like:

  • Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Obesity
  • Poor nutrition
  • Tooth decay
  • Look for other healthier alternatives, like sweet berries for example

Fried food

Be cautious about your fried food intake. Deep fried food like fried chicken and french fries contain trans-fats that increase bad cholesterol in the blood and lowers good cholesterol, raising your risk of heart disease.

Fast/ junk food

A high calorie and high fat diet has little nutritional value leading to:

  • High cholesterol levels
  • Diabetes
  • Heart attacks

Moreover, fast foods have a low satiety value and people still feel hungry after having them.
